In August, the Alabama brief, which was originally scheduled for July, was published on the JRI and CSG Justice Center websites. Round 1 briefs (GA, MO, RI) continued to be reviewed by the BJA Communications team. Additionally, CSG Justice Center staff continued to work internally with leadership on revisions for the round 2 briefs (VT, MT, WY). CSG Justice Center staff collaborated with CJI staff to post state briefs on the JRI website as they were approved. Lastly, CJI and CSG Justice Center staff met regularly to discuss content updates.

THIS TRAINING HAD TO BE POSTPONED FROM FEBRUARY 2025 TO AUGUST 2025 DUE TO FLOODING AND WINTER STORMS IN KENTUCKY.
NACDL will send attorney and mitigation specialist subject matter experts to Kentucky to train multiple offices (including newly hired staff) on best practices in mitigation. The training will focus on trainees existing cases and utilize the Bring-Your-Own-Case (BYOC) model to the extent feasible.

Provide ongoing assistance and support to grantees under the Upholding the Rule of Law & Preventing Wrongful Convictions program (both FY21 and FY22 grantees) through direct consultations and feedback, as well as connecting grantees to each other for more general and global assistance.

JSS is developing training curriculums for Training: 101 for SRTBWCs, Training: Using Videos for Training, and Training: Video Release. Once developed, these trainings will be provided in person on-site, as train-the-trainer curriculums and in online formats.

To deliver information in quick, focused and modern methods, JSS is producing 3 to 10 minute videos on key topics of interest to the micro-grantees, such as policy development, public release of BWC videos, etc.

As part of project, JSS works with micro-grantees to receive request for funds based on invoices for BWCs and supports. JSS reviews the materials for accuracy and completeness, work with the micro-grantee to resolve questions and processes the payments.

Through this activity, JSS supports the micro-grantees to develop a comprehensive body worn camera program with the use of federal funds. JSS ensures that all requirements and regulations are adhered to and that the program is comprehensive in nature.
