Access Reentry Week Resources

The National Reentry Resource Center (NRRC) has now posted resources related to events hosted during Reentry Week (April 26–30 2021). These events helped show how reentry plays a vital role in fostering successful communities and neighborhoods. Throughout the week, NRRC shared various resources, including webinars, publications, and podcasts that blended reentry expertise with lived experience. These resources are now available on NRRC’s website and address the following topics:

Vera coordinated and recorded a webinar on building partnerships to provide reentry services to incarcerated people returning to the community. Panelists included representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, South Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board, and Metropolitan Community College in Nebraska.

Vera coordinated and recorded a webinar on the reinstatement of Pell grant eligibility for incarcerated people. The webinar panelist's discussed the law passed, highlighted how postsecondary education in prison operates now, and new considerations for corrections and higher education institutions in light of the new law. Panelists included representatives from corrections, higher education institutions, and the US Department of Higher Education. This webinar and audio transcript will be a resource added to the National Reentry Resource Center for public viewing and use.
