"Objective 6: Develop and use technology tools that better track and reduce recidivism. In March, CSG Justice Center staff continued developing the technology tool. Additionally, CSG Justice Center staff met with WYDOC Field Services district managers to solicit feedback on ideas for metrics to include in the technology tool and learn how they use data to influence outcomes related to the Positive Rewards Incentives Sanctions Matrix (PRISM) system and the success of individuals under supervision.

"Objective 6: Develop and use technology tools that better track and reduce recidivism.   In January, CSG Justice Center staff met with the WYDOC research manager to discuss data exploration for the project and continued prioritizing metrics for the tool. CSG Justice Center staff developed a new scope of work and project plan memo to document the shift from New Jersey to Wyoming and submitted it to the BJA policy office. The memo was approved on January 12, 2024. CSG Justice Center staff also began building the beta version of the tool. "

Background: Wyoming’s Justice Reinvestment legislation, HEA 0062, requires a QI Unit to be created within the Department of Corrections to monitor the administration and use of substance use disorder assessments. This legislation supports hiring and training staff for the QI Unit, the development of policies and procedures specifically related to the assessment process, and training for personnel in both the WDOC and WDH who will be working within the newly developed QI policies.
