The Bureau of Justice Assistance requested funding for registration and books for the International Association of Crime Analysts online training courses. BJA NTTAC provided funding support to twelve representatives of the New Orleans, Louisiana Police Department and the Nashville, Tennessee Police Department to attend the IACA online training courses starting in May 2020 and ending in September, 2020.

The Delaware State Police is seeking assistance from BJA NTTAC for training that will enhance Officer competencies in tactical de-escalation. Delaware State PD is seeking an evidence-based police training system that combines social, tactical, and decision-making skills into a unified program. The training will use scientifically validated methods to strengthen officers’ capacity to be agile, adaptable, and creative in situations where safety, communication, and trust are essential.

The Jackson County, Oregon Sheriff's Office requested technical assistance to receive proper training in research methods, useful tools and education-related crime reduction, suspect profiles and information gathering to solve crime. BJA NTTAC denied this request.

The Wichita National Public Safety Partnership (PSP) Site requested a crime analysis assessment. Julie Wartell was selected to fulfill the request. The crime analysis assessment occurred between April 2020 and July 2020 and involved the 40 police department personnel as well as City, County, and USAO partners. Julie Wartell delivered the final report to Wichita PSP Site in August 2020.

The Davenport, Iowa Police Department, as part of the Davenport National Public Safety Partnership (PSP) site, requested a crime analysis assessment. OnPoint Analytics was selected to fulfill the request and conducted an assessment between January 2020 and August 2020. OnPoint Analytics delivered a final summary and recommendations report to Davenport PSP in August 2020.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore Police Department requested assistance to enhance their knowledge in crime analysis and crime prevention strategies . BJA NTTAC denied this request.

The Bureau of Justice Assistanc requested assistance through BJA NTTAC to provide training and technical assistance to the two cities who will be hosting the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in 2020: Charlotte, NC and Milwaukee, WI. Kevin Preslan was selected to facilitate the assistance and conducted a two-and-half day onsite visit with the agency in January 2018. Kevin Preslan will be developing a report with recommendations specific to training on best practices/lessons learned from previous conventions on a variety of grant administration and audit topics as needed.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma Police Department (PD), as part of the Tulsa National Public Safety Partnership (PSP) site, requested assistance with facilitating a one-day local crime analysis summit and receiving additional assistance for their newly developed strategic analysis unit. Julie Wartell was selected to fulfill the request and conducted a two-day site visit to Tulsa PD on November 21-22, 2019 to facilitate the summit and provide onsite technical assistance. Ms. Wartell also provided additional offsite assistance to Tulsa PD until March 2020 as they rolled out the new unit.
