SWODA is not getting any data on whether the naloxone they distribute is actually being used to reverse OD. They were brainstorming methods they could possibly use to collect this data. E.g., Could they put a separate QR code on the box with a note that says, "If you used this to save a life, tell us about it"? RTI (Jackie) will ask around among coaches and other grantees to see if anyone is doing this or has heard of this.

RTI (Jackie) will connect the grantee to the evaluator we have been working with and who has been working with our COSSUP grantees. The goal is to advise the grantee in their evaluation efforts.

The grantee already has 6 Narcan vending machines in the field - 2 in round-the-clock locations, the others in 9am-5pm business settings like outpatient counseling and recovery support meetings. They have 4 more machines they want to place in the community, but would like ideas for where to put them for 1) 24/7 access and 2) as little stigma as possible. The grantee has considered convenience stores, laundromats, apartment complex lobbies, and EDs.

Bucks County wants to repurpose their COSSUP funds to expand their emergency housing shelter and co-locate some MH and SU services there. Their grant officer (Andrew Rodeghero) would like to see a paragraph outlining their plan before moving ahead. RTI will draft a paragraph to share with Bucks County and then with Andrew. UPDATE 10/15/24 - sent OJP officer (Andrew Rodeghero) a paragraph proposing how the funds would be used; he responded that unfortunately this would be unallowable since this is a discretionary program.

Berkeley County Council previously put out a FOA for evaluators, but received no applications. They are going to release a new RFP around September 2024. Tracey will let us know when this RFP has been released, and RTI will share it with a few evaluators we know in an effort to find Berkeley County Council an evaluator. UPDATE 11/11/24: Tracey Guilliams became certified as a researcher through her doctorate program and will be conducting the evaluation herself. This is permitted per the GAM, which does not require the evaluator to be external.

Gila County would like ideas for how to collect feedback from students about the Makerspaces they have implemented. RTI will 1) look through the performance metrics required by BJA to see if any may be relevant and 2) reach out to RTI colleagues for their ideas about how to assess.

RTI met with Debra Blevins to discuss fiscal operations of Gila County COSSUP grant. Katy will check internally within RTI on whether there is anything we need to do regarding a GAM for Gila County.
