The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) requested a subject matter expert to develop a publication summarizing the themes and findings of the January 2017 Justice Reinvestment Strategy Session forum. Alison Shames was selected to fulfill the request and provided support by attending the forum; conducting follow up interviews with BJA staff, session attendees, and other stakeholders; and drafting and delivering the report to BJA . The technical assistance commenced in January 2017 with Shames conducting pre-forum research and attending the forum on January 12 in Washington, D.C.

The Jefferson County, Alabama Drug Court requested on-site training for 10-15 clinicians and staff on Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT). The request was denied by BJA and not fulfilled by BJA NTTAC.

The Pima County, Arizona Sheriff's Department Corrections Bureau requested information on motivational interviewing training. BJA NTTAC provided the requestor with resources from the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) and also referred the requestor to Jim Carter, a provider who conducts training around this topic.

The Adult Client Services Branch of the First Circuit Court in Hawaii requested a five-day certification and re-certification training by the Community Corrections Institute (CCI) on the Natural Response Control Tactics (NRCT). BJA NTTAC was not able to fulfill the request and closed the request on October 12, 2016.

The Chesterfield County/City of Colonial Heights Community Corrections Services requested technical assistance for mapping the residences of clients receiving public assistance and/or mental health services from the local government to ultimately improve efficiency in the delivery of such services. Stewart Bruce was selected to fulfill this request and provided onsite evaluation services of existing resources, met with agency personnel and other community stakeholders, and developed a comprehensive final report with recommendations for the initiative.
