The Move Over/Distracted Driving Summit: A Unified Approach to Driving Change on the Roadway, looks to bring stakeholders from the private sector as well as the public sector at the local, state and federal level with the purpose of reducing motorist and emergency responder safety at roadway incidents. This Summit will serve as a kickoff to bring together and unify these groups and agencies and develop working groups and strategies to make our roadways safer.

NLERSP Train-the-Trainer (In Person) - USAO Middle District of Georgia

Provide roadway safety training to your agency. Attend this 8-hour course where trainers will be given the resources and skills needed to teach the NLERSP training curriculum to other officers during academy or in-service training. Prerequisite: Trainers must complete the Roadway Safety for Patrol Officers course prior to attending this course. Laptops are strongly recommended.

Briefings: Patrol Essentials for Treatment Court - 2021 Regional Virtual Lunch and Learn Training Series

Join the Bureau of Justice Assistance and the National Drug Court Institute for Briefings, a training curriculum designed by law enforcement for law enforcement, including in-person training, virtual lunch-and-learns, and publications. This training provides law enforcement officers with some of the key tools to build an agency-wide understanding of treatment courts and diversion programs, develop standard engagement protocols, and improve jurisdictions' public safety outcomes.

CHJ conducted a workshop for the COAP/COSSAP National Forum about First Responder Diversion Programs on March 10, 2020. The workshop discussed potential topics and presentation methods for consideration in the diversion curriculum, including cross-training for first responders and behavioral health staff. This workshop is designed to address the need for first responder training specific to diversion programs for individuals with an opioid and substance use disorder.

CenTF Multijurisdictional Task Force Commanders Training (Sept 2019, Alabama)

The Bureau of Justice Assistance’s Center for Task Force Training (CenTF) Program offers the classroom-based “Task Force Commanders Training” through a two-day onsite training. This training covers a variety of topics designed to assist task force commanders and other law enforcement leaders in making appropriate decisions regarding task force administration and operations planning and management.
