Rural Violent Crime Reduction Initiative Solicitation Webinar - November 2022

The RVCRI Solicitation Webinar will provide details and guidance to eligible applicants on the RVCRI Microgrant Program. The RVCRI is a competitive microgrant program, funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, supporting rural law enforcement agencies addressing violent crime challenges. Microgrants can support various aspects of policing including improving investigations, implementing violent crime reduction strategies, and enhancing collaboration between local stakeholders. Awards are competitive in nature and can range from $25,000 - $150,000.

NLERSP Train-the-Trainer (In Person) - Missouri Safety Center/ KCPD

Missouri POST Accredited! Lead your agency in roadway safety. Provide roadway safety training to your agency. Attend this 8-hour course where trainers will be given the resources and skills needed to teach the NLERSP training curriculum to other officers during academy or in-service training. Prerequisite: Trainers must complete the Roadway Safety for Patrol Officers course prior to attending this course.

NLERSP Executive Workshop (Virtual) - National

Lead your agency in roadway safety. Attend this four-hour executive course where you will participate in discussions with other executive and mid-level officers about how to increase officer safety during roadway operations. This course provides an overview of available research about the risk factors for officer-involved collisions and struck-by incidents, and it identifies a variety of interventions and technological innovations that can reduce the likelihood of their occurrence. National Police Week 2023

National Police Week occurs every May. 

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
