IIR provided logistical support and coordination for a representative from Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department - Compton Station along with the VRN Strategic Site Liaison and VRN - CNA Analyst to visit the Oakland and Richmond Police Departments. IIR also reimbursed travel for the individual from LASD. The purpose of this trip was to identify violence reduction efforts in Oakland and Richmond that can be replicated, as appropriate, to enhance violence reduction efforts in Compton.

During the reporting period, IIR, in consultation with BJA and CNA, began initial planning for the 2015 VRN Summit, to include extensive exploration of city venue options to accommodate the estimated number of participants for the nationwide multiday event and identification of the dates of September 28-30 in Detroit, Michigan—a VRN site. Consideration was given to potential site location, cost, ease of accessibility, number and size of meeting rooms, access to area restaurants, and more.

State Dept. requested NCCJD staff to provide input and resources re: gender based violence and people with disabilities. Staff provided updated information regarding NCCJD's work in this area, specific resources and contact names, and provided a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of current policies and practices. This TA is ongoing.

IIR, in close collaboration with DOJ/OJP/BJA and partner TTA provider, CNA, coordinated the first VRN Summit, which was hosted at ATF Headquarters in September/October 2014.
