Hamilton County, Ohio requested travel support for a peer-to-peer visit for six to eight representatives to visit the Albany, New York law enforcement assisted diversion program. BJA NTTAC referred this request to the Center for Health and Justice at Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities.
The Judiciary of Guam, Department of Corrections requested travel supported for Judge Barcinas to attend the Pretrial Justice Institutes Conference. BJA NTTAC provided travel support for one representative from the Judiciary of Guam to attend the conference from March 14-15, 2019 in Denver, CO.
Anniston PD requested travel support to attend a peer exchange to the Springettsbury Township, Pennsylvania PD to learn about their community engagement strategy. BJA provided travel support to four representatives from Anniston PD to attend the peer exchange from November 1 – 2, 2018.
BJA requested travel support for one representative from the Jackson, Mississippi Police Department to attend a peer exchange to the St. Louis, Missouri Police Department on August 16 - 17, 2018. The traveler did not seek reimbursement, and the request was not delivered.
The West Memphis PSP site requested travel support for one representative to attend a peer site visit in Austin, Texas to learn about community engagement work. BJA NTTAC provided travel support to one traveler from the West Memphis PSP site to attend the visit in August 2018.
The Milwaukee PSP site requested travel support for representatives from the Milwaukee PSP site to attend a peer site visit in Oakland, California. BJA NTTAC provided travel support to six representatives from the Milwaukee PSP site to attend the visit in July 11 - 13, 2018 in Oakland, California.
The Colorado Springs (CO) Police Department is requesting assistance with enhancing their Public Information section to be proactive in improving community/police relations.
BJA NTTAC will support seven travelers from the Chicago PD to attend the LAPD Academy from May 16 - May 27. The conference will cover various topics around crime reduction and law enforcement.
The PSA is requesting funding for a peer-to-peer site visit with the Bexar County (TX) Center for Health Care Services (CHCS) in order to observe the “restoration center” model the center has implemented as a pretrial diversion tool.
