Acquire knowledge of collaborative approaches taking place to address parent representation in child welfare cases.
Assess potential solutions that are appropriate to implement and/or adapt into your community.

NAICJA staff and tribal court holistic defense pilot projects staff from ALSC, NLS, OILS all came to the Bronx Defenders office in Bronx, NYC for an in-person workshop and training.

Monthly meetings with the individual pilot project sites, Oklahoma Indian Legal Services (OILS) that include Quapaw Nation Tribal Court in order to plan and implement a holistic defense pilot project.

Monthly meetings with the individual pilot project site, Nevada Legal Services (NLS) to plan and implement a holistic defense pilot project.

Monthly meetings with the individual pilot project site, Alaska Legal Services Corporation (ALSC) to plan and implement a holistic defense pilot project.

Provide technical training assistance to develop a mission, vision, and values for this new office including connecting subgrantee with mentors, field experts, and other resources aimed at creating a holistic defense.
January - June 2022: Conducted monthly meetings and set a conference date of November 17-19, 2022. Contracted with National Association for Public Defense to assist in developing an agenda, recruit speakers, and content.
