Met with Jay Sanders and Monique Grier to discuss the expectations of P&I Guide Section 4. Reviewed the requirement of drafting sustainable recommendations and highlighted the importance of ensuring quality assurance in all areas of implementation. Discussed next steps and upcoming site visit (5/27 and 5/28).
Met with DOC staff managing SRR project to discuss their P&I Guide responses and consider recommendations for their proposal. Also attended a working meeting convened by Secretary Wetzel: As one of only 13 national agencies to be selected as recipient of the Second Chance Recidivism Reduction Planning Grant for the year 2013, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) is reaching out to fellow statewide agencies in an effort to request support and continued action in fulfilling our common goal: reducing the ongoing problem of recidivism.
Met with SRR planning team workgroups to provide updates templates, discuss coordination with JRI work on parole, and faciliate continued strategic planning around sections 3 and 4 of the P&I Guide.
