The Building Bridges initiative helps jails expand access to opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment both during incarceration and upon reentry into the community. Selected sites receive intensive training and technical assistance to support the implementation of medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Each team or individual is assigned a site liaison for monthly check-ins, resource sharing, support, and next-step planning.

In November, five calls were conducted with five participating sites to provide guidance and assistance.

Participants gain insights into evidence-based approaches to improving outcomes for individuals impacted by substance use disorders in correctional environments.
