IIR SMEs and Georgia Bureau of Investigation staff discuss the recommended edits to the Face Recognition Policy Development Template to address National District Attorney's Association language revisions.
This meeting was hosted by the IIR team lead of the Face Recognition Policy Group to discuss the feedback submitted on the FR policy template from the International Association of Chiefs of Police with support team, SMEs and stakeholders.
IIR hosted a meeting via teleconference to discuss the recommendation for the Face Recognition Policy Template by DOJ’s Office of Privacy and Civil Liberties (OPCL) to remove item 2.B. regarding an entity’s breach notification policy. Because the removal of this language impacts both the Fusion Center Privacy Policy Template and the FR template, as well as the majority of DHS-approved fusion center policies that use this language throughout the country, IIR wanted to ensure this recommendation was discussed further with DHS partners as well.
Final weekly call with PPWG membership to resolve outstanding issues on template draft and finalize version for review /vetting by their respective agencies.
Weekly discussion via teleconference with PPWG members to finalize the Fusion Center P/CRCL policy template draft. New issues discussed during this meeting included reviewing the various definitions of Personally Identifiable Information and how to reference the term within the document.

This meeting took place via teleconference with the IIR SMEs that support the development of the Face Recognition Policy template, the Fusion Center P/CRCL Policy template and DOJ and ODNI to discuss the the rationale for incorporating changes suggested by DOJ and NSI as well as follow up to PE-ISE's Mission Programs Deputy on the feedback from ODNI Office of Civil Liberties, Privacy & Transparency

Participation promotes national standards and resources available to conference participants who generally represent state and local practitioners with responsibilities for acquiring and implementing technology within the justice community.
