Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) requested Blue Courage: The Heart and Mind of the Guardian training for law enforcement personnel from the state of Wisconsin. Blue Courage Inc. was selected to fulfill the request and conducted a two-day training session for 17 personnel in Appleton, Wisconsin on May 4-5, 2017.
The Fox Valley Technical College's Public Safety Training Center located in Appleton, WI respectfully requests grant funds to cover instructional costs for Blue Courage's "The Heart and Mind of the Guardian". The college will recommend the students (officers) who attend pay for the cost of the class materials $95.50 for two days of training; by paying for the materials, the officers will show their level of commitment to the class.
The Public Safety Training Center provides vital hands-on tactical training for students and public safety professionals. In addition to being a training facility for fire, EMS and law enforcement, the center provides various specialized training opportunities for law enforcement officials, including but not limited to K9, Instructor Development, Law Enforcement Instructor, Management and Leadership, Patrol and Crash, In-Service, Computer and Technology, Tactical, Investigations, Forensics and Evidence, Conferences and Seminars and Basic Recruit Academies.
The specialized training opportunities offered at the center are available to local, state, national and federal law enforcement agencies. Therefore, rural agencies to larger metropolitan agencies could send officers to this training opportunity.

The National Criminal Justice Training Center located at the Fox Valley Technical College received grant funds from BJA for "Indian Alcohol and Substance Abuse" ($1.8 million from 2013-2017).
We provide training and technical assistance to Native American Tribes.
