In August, CSG Justice Center staff continued to work with the Penn State Data Center and Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (PDOC) and Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole (PBPP) researchers on the publicly available “data dashboard.” CSG Justice Center staff have provided input regarding performance measures and data visualization as part of the project. The dashboard is supported through Phase II BJA subaward funds.
CSG Justice Center staff are preparing a memorandum to JRI funders regarding technical assistance in Pennsylvania and the state’s progress toward its justice reinvestment goals.

• PBPP, in partnership with PDOC and Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), will be hosting a graduation ceremony in September for parole and probation officers that have completed certification as part of the statewide training on Effective Practices in Community Supervision (EPICS). Top agency leaders will be attending the ceremony. CSG Justice Center staff have been providing strategic input regarding the roll out of EPICS training and inter-agency collaboration as part of the initiative. EPICS implementation is supported through BJA Phase II subaward funds.
• CSG Justice Center staff will be continuing to monitor utilization of subaward funds at PBPP and PCCD. PBPP will be completing spend down in September. PCCD was granted a no cost extension, and will be continuing to spend down funds through March 2016.
• (8/4) Discussion with leadership from the Bureau of Community Corrections (BCC), PDOC regarding justice reinvestment implementation and sustainability, particularly of the use of intermediate options for parole violators. Participants included a BCC Major and the BCC Acting Director.
