"Technical Assistance to the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC)
As noted in the previous reporting period, and in consultation with DHS, the objectives and work of this project will be distributed across two grant awards. The work completed by the subcontractor SMEs will be reported here, under this award, whereas the primary activity undertaken by IIR personnel will be reported under award number 2017-D6-BX-0001—State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Information Sharing and Nationwide
Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative Technical Assistance Program.
During the January 2022 to June 2022, reporting period, the IIR staff and its subcontractor SMEs provided technical assistance to the BRIC to review and recommend updates to BRIC policies and procedures. Below is a current status of each resource as of this reporting period.
1. Privacy, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties Protection Policy—In final draft form and following the end of this reporting period was undergoing an IIR editorial QC review.
2. Social Media Policy—In the process of being converted into a standard operating procedure (SOP) by the BRIC.
3. Threat—IIR proposed revisions are under consideration by the BRIC.
4. Tips and Leads—IIR proposed revisions are under consideration by the BRIC.
5. Request for Information—In final draft form.
6. Collection and Product Development—In final draft form.
7. Analysis—IIR proposed revisions are under consideration by the BRIC.
8. Criminal Intelligence File Guidelines—To be reviewed by BRIC legal counsel for necessary changes.
9. Outreach Plan—The BRIC will develop a plan based on content shared with the BRIC by IIR subcontractor SMEs."
