Law Enforcement Intelligence: A Guide for State, Local, and Tribal Law Enforcement Agencies, Edition 3.0
During this reporting period, recommendations from the GAC/CICC vetting process were reviewed and incorporated into the Law Enforcement Intelligence: A Guide for State, Local, and Tribal Law Enforcement Agencies, Edition 3.0. The revised draft was provided and vetted through DHS components, with revisions later incorporated. IIR completed a comprehensive editorial QC review on the final draft, which was then converted by IIR graphics into a formal graphics publication format. The graphic publication version completed a final QC review on June 28, 2021. At the end of this reporting period, BJA leadership was reviewing the resource. The guide will be published online, following BJA approval and 508 compliance remediation.
Best Practices Resource Guide for the CAD/SAR Query Process
During January and February of 2021, IIR coordinated with stakeholders from the Boston Regional Intelligence Center and the New York Police Department to adjudicate the final round of input on the Best Practices Resource Guide for the CAD/SAR Query Process. On March 12, 2021, this guide was submitted to the DHS National Threat Evaluation Reporting Program Office for review and approval, as well as guidance on next steps involving input and standardization recommendations from the IJIS Institute. Between March and June 2021, there was a delay on this project because of changes in DHS staffing. On June 24, 2021, IIR met with DHS and received approval to resume efforts on this project and to reach out to IJIS Institute to request an SME to complete the review and recommendations.
