Tennessee Valley Authority Police are a federal law enforcement agency that is looking to start a Naloxone program. They have been tasked with developing a Naloxone program for our agency. They are a federal law enforcement agency operating in seven states. Although they have a medical director, a physician and have agreed to order the Naloxone for their officers, they wanted to know if there are any federal laws or regulations that must be followed to start the program?

Due to the agency's point of contact's hectic schedule, the majority of CHJ's interaction has been via email with the agency. After researching the TA needs, CHJ sent the following resources to address the question of whether there are federal guidelines for Naloxone distribution. As a result, individual states control naloxone distribution and access, as stated in these links below. Our colleagues at SAFE Project confirmed this as well, along with guidance on rules and resources.
