On January 18, 2019 the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) hosted an online task force welcome and project orientation call for the 11 BJA grantees from the Purpose Area 2 and 3 FY2018 Enhanced Collaborative Model (ECM) BJA/OVC-funded human trafficking task forces.

Task force members required to attend this meeting were: BJA Grantee Program Manager/Financial Point of Contact, BJA Grantee Lead Law Enforcement Representative, Task Force Coordinator, and other task force members were welcome and encouraged to attend.

This discussion is critical to provide attendees with key updates and policy guidance on the ECM program, especially for the new Purpose Area 3 sites to understand BJA and OVC's expectations for their role in building the capacity of other task forces. The webinar covered: a review of contacts for ECM Task Force support, including BJA Grant Managers, Policy Advisor, and training and technical assistance (TTA) providers; ECM project funding guidelines; guidance on BJA expectations for their task force purpose area ( Purpose Area 2: increasing human trafficking task force effectiveness and Purpose Area 3: expanding human trafficking task force effectiveness); and resources available to help their task force meeting your grant deliverables.

Presenters: Jane Anderson (Attorney Advisor, AEquitas), Maria Anderson (State Policy Advisor, BJA) Sabrina Fernandez (Project Manager, IACP), Alissa Huntoon (Senior Policy Advisor, BJA), Cari Jankowski (Project Coordinator, IACP), Aubrey Lloyd (Human Trafficking Team Lead, OVC TTA Center), Colleen Owens (Research Consultant, John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Urban Institute), Emily Patton (Research Associate, BJA), Olga Santiago (State Policy Advisor, BJA)
