In order to advance access to restorative justice education, the NCORJ offers scholarships for the Professional Certificate in Restorative Justice at Vermont Law and Graduate School.

The research division provides scholarship support for individuals to receive restorative justice Circle certificate training from Underserved Populations for Underserved Populations. To date, support has been provided for 4.5 attendees.

As part of the professional development gathering, the NCORJ team coordinated a screening of A Once and Future Peace, a restorative justice documentary, and a Q&A session with the facilitator from the film. Scholarship and coaching recipients also participated in the filming of a learning session after the screening that will be used in the asynchronous online module that will provide an introduction to restorative justice and is currently being developed.

Provided scholarship support for 15 scholarship recipients from the Certificate in RJ Facilitation and Leadership and 10 recipients of the National Restorative Coaching Program (NRCP) to attend a three-day Professional Development Gathering at the University of San Diego.

The Hate Crimes TTA team held a kickoff call with the San Jose Police Department (PD). The purpose of the call was to build rapport with site representatives, learn about San Jose PD’s Collaborative Approaches toward Preventing and Addressing Hate-Demonstration Project activities, identify any challenges and emerging issues, and begin to scope out the site’s TTA needs.

The NCORJ Restorative Justice Research Community (RJRC) project team hosted its first community gathering, an in-person working session event in Burlington VT, on “Growing the Field of Research on Restorative Justice.” This 1.5 day working session event included 22 attendees from 17 different organizations.
