8/14: CSG Justice Center staff met Maureen Cain (Policy Liaison, Colorado Public Defender Office), James Karbach (Director of Legislative Policy and External Communications, Colorado Public Defender Office), looking to understand the criminal justice system dynamics, the government/political dynamics, the landscape of advocates, and the interplay of the unique relationships of the stakeholders. 8/7: CSG Justice Center staff met with Dr. Erin Harbinson, (Director, Criminal Justice Research Institute (CJRI), State of Hawaii Judiciary), Sam Choi, (Data Analyst, CJRI, State of Hawaii Judiciary), Aerielle Reynolds,(Data Analyst, CJRI, State of Hawaii Judiciary), Michelle Masters, (Data Analyst, CJRI, State of Hawaii Judiciary), and Mariah McCaskill, (Data Analyst, CJRI, State of Hawaii Judiciary), to discuss the first draft of Hawaii Paroling Authority data findings.

In-person presentation on November 4 at the Minnesota CSAC meeting in Shakopee, MN

A presentation was provided to the Community Supervision Advisory Committee (CSAC) to introduce and explain key recommendations developed by the Risk and Needs Assessment (RNA) Working Group and the Justice Reinvestment Initiative (JRI) Phase II Working Group. The presentation included a review of the risk-need-responsivity (RNR) principles, risk and needs assessment recommendations, case planning recommendations, and behavior response grid recommendations.

11/04: In-person presentation at the Minnesota CSAC meeting to present working group recommendations for case planning and a statewide behavior response grid, which will support improved supervision strategies for community supervision.

CSG Justice Center staff conducted a TA call held on 11/1, with the Nebraska team including the Deputy Director – Programs, the Assistant Deputy Director – Reentry, the Case Management Coordinator, the Assistant Deputy Director of Classification, and the Reentry Program Manager to finalize details for the reentry employment summit. CSG Justice Center staff held speaker prep meetings for the summit with Metro 180 RAP and Ooh De Lally, both on 11/4.

CSG Justice Center staff conducted the following activities:
On 12/10/24 call with CA CDCR leadership and NC DAC leadership/Governor's office to talk about the formation of a joint reentry council and what it means to have a whole of government approach
On 12/19/24 CSG presented to the CDCR cabinet level directors about Reentry 2030

CSG Justice Center held a meeting AZ DOC to review Reentry 2030 goals.

CSG Justice Center staff conducted technical assistance through the following activities:

CSG Justice Center staff presented to the legislatively lead Utah Reentry Coalition meeting.

CSG Justice Center staff conducted TA calls on 12/5, 12/12, and 12/20 with NDCS staff, including the Assistant Deputy Director – Reentry and Senior Project Manager on Wellbeing Development and CSG staff to develop a detailed workplan for launching the Transform Nebraska coalition.

In the coming months, CSG Justice Center staff will Launch Transform Nebraska coalition and associated working groups.
