The Puerto Rico Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (PRDCR) started this period with a lot of enthusiasm, but engagement dwindled down during the second half of the quarter. The grantee and JDI coaches met with their new grant manager for a really productive conversation about their budget modification and next steps for their project. PRDCR's proposed changes were approved, but the agency must now apply for a NCE in order to achieve their project goals.

Essex is just chugging along. The coaches and the site intended to meet once per month, but twice it was determined that there were no major updates and the site provided an email update.

The site continues to do well. They have accomplished their grant goals - they are simply using the extension to spend down the funds to pay the salaries of the mental health clinicians. The coaches have no concern that they will finish the grant strong.

While this has not been confirmed, it is anticipated that the site will conclude their grant prior to the end of their NCE.
