To advance the mission of the Center, the JJSC held several listening sessions to gather input from jail staff and a broad range of stakeholders. These sessions provided insights into their experiences and perspectives on the essential needs and challenges for jails in maintaining a safe and secure corrections environment. The goal of these sessions was to learn about the current needs and challenges that jails face, as well as identify best practices that other jails in the country can utilize
On March 7-8, 2023 the Colorado Judicial Branch - Colorado Problem-Solving Court Conference Planning Committee hosted a virtual conference intended to promote collaboration, leadership, and alliance in the service of justice-involved individuals and families affected by substance use and co-occurring disorders, and to foster enhanced system-wide inclusivity, equity, and cultural humility. TLPI was invited to present a 75-minute session entitled, Working with Native American Clients, on the first day of the conference.
On 07/31/2020 we conducted an initial needs assessment virtual onsite visit with court staff from the Klamath Tribes.
The Washington County County District Attorney's Office requested technical assistance to enhance its prosecutorial wellness policies and practices and to revise adjudication policies. PCE was selected to fulfil this request and delivered a final report with recommendations in September 2021.
CSG staff presented on an Advance CTE webinar on meeting the CTE needs of a justice involved population. CSG staff spoke to the need to meet the distinct needs of a justice involved population and how state CTE leaders can connect more effectively with justice systems.
In coordination with CJJA, CSG hosted the second in a webinar series detailing the findings of the 50 state survey on workforce development in juvenile justice systems. The webinar focused on the second key finding detailing partnerships between juvenile justice systems and education partners. In addition to CSG and CJJA, the webinar featured Susan Roberts Lockwood, President of CEA to discuss her time leading Indiana as well the national perspective.
Hour-long webinar discussing a coordinated system response to the challenges presented by witness intimidation The presenter discussed methods for enhancing victim and witness asfety, improving their abiility to participate in the justice system, and holding offenders accountable at all stages of the criminal justice process.
