The Socorro, Texas Police Department requested training related to intelligence gathering methods for first responders, crime analysis, anti-terrorism, and infrastructure protection. The request was referred to the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR), who will be the primary TTA provider for hosting 4 regional SLATT trainings in late 2018, including one session in the DFW metro area of Texas.

The Birmingham, AL Police Department requested a crime analysis assessment. Christopher Bruce was selected to fulfill the request and provided an assessment of the crime analysis capabilities and needs. The crime analysis assessment occurred on March 15 - 16, 2018, and involved Birmingham PD leadership and analysts. Christopher Bruce delivered the final recommendations report to the Birmingham PD in April 2018.

The Arkansas City, Kansas Police Department (PD) requested technical assistance in leveraging crime analysis software to better address property crimes and high rates of traffic accidents in the jurisdiction. Stewart Bruce was selected to fulfill this request and provided onsite evaluation services of existing resources, met with agency personnel and other law enforcement and community stakeholders, and developed a comprehensive final report with recommendations for how the PD can better deploy resources. Mr. Bruce delivered the final report to the PD in July 2017.

The Little Rock, Arkansas Police Department, as part of the Little Rock Violence Reduction Network (VRN) site, requested training and technical assistance for crime analysts. BJA NTTAC referred the requester to Chris Bruce, who provides training through the International Association of Crime Analysts and offered his time onsite to complete the training request.

The New Orleans Police Department (PD), as part of the New Orleans VRN site, is requesting an assessment of its current crime analysis capabilities and crime analysis training to support command staff, crime analysts, other law enforcement executives in the development, utilization, and enhancement of crime and public safety analysis.

The purpose of this request is two-fold: 1) to develop geospatial data layers for the city limits of West Memphis in order to support more accurate location-based data entry and information capture, 2) identify the process and/or system to capture WMPD fleet GPS data within the dispatch/recording systems in order to ensure accurate location of responses.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking to conduct a needs assessment of its crime analysis and criminal intelligence gathering capabilities. Currently, we are experiencing gaps in the services that the units are able to provide. The areas we seek to address in this assessment are in the capabilities of the personnel and the technology available to provide an accurate and effective product.
