Check Out A Guide for Evidence-Based Best Practices and Tips for Analyzing Jail Data from the Vera Institute of Justice

The Vera Institute of Justice has recently developed a guide to analyzing jail data to better inform impactful policy creation and social change. The guide provides strategies for obtaining quantitative data on jail populations from local government and other sources, definitions of data points generally collected about jail populations, best-practices for prepping data sets for most effective analysis, and suggestions for different types of analysis that could be performed with that data.

The goal of the roundtable is to identify collaborative efforts that can help reduce violent crime and improve the capacity of prosecutors and law enforcement to hold offenders accountable. Attendees will also identify the steps necessary to replicate these efforts and discuss strategies to measure and evaluate their effectiveness. It is anticipated that the roundtable will include representatives from approximately twelve jurisdictions from across the nation.

The 11th annual National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children conference will provide training on the latest research and best practice strategies for drug endangered children efforts at the local, state, tribal and national levels. The conference will enable participants to enhance collaborative efforts to protect children from the harmful effects of their caregivers’ substance abuse. This conference is being held in in partnership with the Florida Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (Florida DEC).
