The third listening session, held March 28, 2023, involved 7 agencies who were located in the 'rust belt region', had implemented their BWC programs and had reported success stories. The key takeaways from this listening session included:
• The benefits of regional working groups
• Anticipating challenges and benefits of BWCs
• Challenges for releasing BWCs and coordinating with prosecutors
• The value of BWC footage for use in training
• Benefits of micro‐grants for small and rural agencies
Lyons, KS requested examples of SROs using BWCs in schools.
The RVCRI team provided several resources to Lyons, including sample school district BWC policy, podcast, and webinar on BWC use in schools.

The second listening session, held on December 14, 2022 involved nine Sheriff’s Offices. Prior to the session we talked with 20 agencies via one-on-one preparation interviews. While many could not attend the Listening Session itself, we gleaned key takeaways with them. Overall, the key takeaways from this listening session included:
• Motivation for using BWCs is consistent across agencies
• Sharing footage is chiefly at the request of the county/district attorney
• The oversight of county officials complicates developing policies and securing funding
