The Prosecuting Attorney's Association of Michigan requested training on the socioeconomic, geographic, psychological, and other contributing factors that cause the formation of criminal gangs or impact an individual’s choice to join criminal gangs. BJA NTTAC referred this request to the Institute for Intergovernmental Research.

Prosecutors' Center for Excellence

Prosecutors’ Center for Excellence works with prosecutors to improve the criminal justice system and to address emerging issues.  PCE develops and supports statewide Best Practices Committees for prosecutors. These non-partisan committees, which consist of prosecutors from all regions of a state, provide a process for prosecutors to proactively address the issues of the day and to strive to improve the criminal justice system.

AEquitas

AEquitas' mission is to improve access to and the quality of justice in gender-based violence and human trafficking cases through an informed practical, and innovative approach. AEquitas' staff is comprised of former prosecutors, with over 100 years of collective experience who conduct legal research; provide 24/7 case consultation; serve as instructors at training events and webinars; and publish resources.

Urban Institute

The Urban Institute’s Justice Policy Center staff members conduct research and evaluations and provide technical assistance to improve justice policy and practice at the national, state, and local levels. Urban researchers examine the development, implementation, and impact of policing, crime prevention, and gang disruption initiatives. The work includes a large breadth of topics ranging from risk assessment, community corrections and reentry, human trafficking, forensic science, courts and sentencing, to gun violence.

School of Criminal Justice: Michigan State University
