In partnership wit the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA), the National Governors Association (NGA), and the Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center, we will host a working group meeting with key state leaders, policymakers, and local stakeholders representing nine states and ten cities participating in the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) violent crime reduction strategies with state/local jurisdictions.

Michael will be speaking at the conference delivering a keynote on Blue Courage Health and Wellness. Also he will be presenting with FLETC. Blue Courage will also have a booth for exhibiting to answer questions about, and give information regarding Blue Courage. Blue Courage enhances our law enforcement officers’ capacity to serve with courage and honor, by shaping a Guardian’s heart and mind. We enhance the capacity of our people through education, practices, tools, and processes.

Opiates and Organized Retail Theft is a growing problem nationwide. There is a definite nexus of overdose, opiate users, retail felony theft, gift card money laundering, and "fences" purchasing the stolen property. The webinar will explain the process of how the Knox County, TN Sheriff's Office identified overdose victims and compared them in the LeadsOnline pawn database and the results they found. In addition, information on how they are mapping overdose locations, retail theft locations, and drug and fencing locations.
