This is the third part of a series of training modules within the NCJA Leadership Academy and is focused on Civil Rights, Ethics, Race and Criminal Justice Reform. The series began with a webinar in May by Ashley McSwain on personnel and civil rights law. That was followed by the in-person session in July on awareness and racial equity issues. Participants left that session with specific goals they intended to work on.

This technical assistance provides fusion centers an opportunity to have their privacy policy implementation efforts reviewed by peers. The exercise involved the use of the Privacy, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties Compliance Verification for the Intelligence Enterprise. Representatives from two centers each traveled to peer operation centers to review and discuss privacy implementation efforts and daily operations. Best practices were exchanged and gaps identified with tools/resources and mitigation suggestions offered.
