NCCJD Director invited to serve on Vera's committee related to their new project funded by the NoVo Foundation: Coalition to End Violence Against People with Disabilities
NCCJD staff were asked to participate in meeting re: how ACL can best maximize their involvement with Adult Protective Service programs and services. Items for discussion included:
• Strengths, weaknesses, gaps, and needs of the current APS system.
• Priority areas for ACL engagement to improve and enhance APS programs and practices.
• How ACL should structure its work so as to have the maximum impact and benefit for both providers of APS, as well as for individuals who interact with APS.
AEquitas recently developed and presented a webinar with the Temple Institute on Disabilities for Pennsylvania professionals that we are hoping to re-present for a national audience on prosecuting crimes of sexual violence against victims with developmental disabilities. NCCJD co-presented this webinar with AEquitas.
