The webinar will feature a panel of experienced researchers and law enforcement professionals who will dive into best practices for implementation, including considering the following questions:

Family Justice Centers provide a “one-stop shop” for victims of family violence (intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse). These co-located, multidisciplinary service centers reduce the number of places a victim must go to receive services following the crime. Services include, but are not limited to, assistance with protective orders, legal services, medical, counseling, safety planning, and more. This session will allow the audience to inquire about innovative practices within the Family Justice Center model.

This two-and-a-half-day training—funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance and sponsored by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and AEquitas—will educate participants on how to identify victims of labor trafficking, as well as share best practices for investigating and prosecuting labor trafficking crimes.

The Strategies for Policing Innovation (SPI) initiative released a problem-oriented policing (POP) guide titled “Understanding and Responding to Crime and Disorder Hot Spots.” SPI collaborated with the Center for Problem-Oriented Policing at Arizona University with support from the Bureau of Justice Assistance to develop this guide.
