Join CNA for their upcoming webinar “Part I: The Role of Police Body-Worn Cameras in Recent Public Protests: Benefits, Challenges, and Solutions” on July 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Arizona State University (ASU) recently conducted a survey asking body-worn cameras (BWCs) policy and implementation program sites about their experiences policing the recent protests, value that BWCs added, challenges agencies experienced, and solutions agencies implemented to tackle these challenges.

Webinar – “COVID-19: Justice Response for Community Supervision”

This virtual meeting will provide an overview of the current statutory framework for community supervision and prison release that enables a rapid response to COVID-19 and highlight policies of concern to states during the pandemic. Attendees will also hear from practitioners about how policy is playing out in the justice system and have an opportunity to ask questions.

The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) recently released its report Policing Body Cameras: Policies and Practices to Safeguard the Rights of the Accused. The report outlined NACDL’s position on the introduction and use of body cameras by law enforcement. This webinar will walk through the recommendations and talk about how to negotiate stronger body camera policies in your jurisdiction, the technical aspects of body cameras, and strategies and tactics for defending clients in body camera jurisdictions.
