Distance Learning Training

By utilizing the Police 2 Peace module of training, our department will have access to training opportunities as well as a roadmap for organizational success.

The Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence (SWGDE) brings together organizations actively engaged in digital and multimedia evidence to foster communication and cooperation and ensure quality and consistency within the forensic community. I am requesting travel costs to be covered so I am able to attend the September 18-21, 2023 meeting/conference of SWGDE in Medford, MA. Travel costs include airfare and baggage, hotel accommodations, rental car transportation, and food per diem.

Our department would like all our sworn officers (92) to take the Police to Peace training and certification and are requesting funding for the training.

Would like to get training assistance. Would like to send several officers/staff members to the online, community policing instructor training.

Officer Chuck Junge holds a Certification as a Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) through the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS). This certification is very important in performing forensic computer responsibilities and testifying in court to processes used and information extracted when examining forensic evidence. IACIS requires renewal of this certification every three years. There are several requirements that must be completed prior to applying for CFCE recertification.

The Anchorage Police Department is requesting TTA support for two new crime analysts to attend IACA online training courses.

The following outlines the specific courses that both Brianne McManis and Pamela Miller request to attend:

Exploring Crime Analysis: Essential Skills I- 04/03/2022 through 6/25/2022
Exploring Crime Analysis; Essential Skills II: 07/03/2022 through 09/24/2022
Advanced Analytical Methods for Microsoft Office: 10/02/2022 through 12/24/2022

TRAINING

I learned about the possibility of having BJA fund virtual training sessions for the youth in our residential centers. We are interested in working with CBO Game Changer. I learned about this opportunity from Sean Sheppard ( Seansheppard@gamechanger1.org ). Once we are approved for this training I will work with Mr. Sheppard to schedule the virtual training.

1.) Learning to Automate our stat reports with our new RMS system and using SSRS.
2.) Learning ArcGIS so that I can make mapping products for patrol/special teams.
3.) Learning to make better products for patrol/PIO/public.

The Anniston/Oxford National Public Safety Partnership site requested support to send one officer to the International Association of Crime Analysts 'ArcGIS PRO Series 2021-11 ArcGIS PRO Odds & Ends webinar series. BJA NTTAC provided support for one officer to attend the IACA training.
