Course Description: The National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children defines drug endangered children (DEC) as children who are at risk of suffering physical or emotional harm as a result of illegal drug use—possession, manufacturing, cultivation, or distribution. There also may be children whose caretaker's substance misuse interferes with the caretaker’s ability to parent and provide a safe and nurturing environment.

Identifying Drug Endangered Children: A Collaborative Approach - The National Strategy for Drug Endangered Children focuses on the formation of multi-disciplinary partnerships that take advantage of existing agency personnel, resources, and responsibilities and coordinate their mutual interests and duties to meet the specific needs of these children. The focus on these children’s needs is throughout the entire process until the child is in a permanent, safe and positive functioning environment.

Course Description:
The Office of Family Assistance through the Administration for Children & Families is proud to announce this webinar “Addressing the Needs of Children: TANF Children Endangered by Drug Use.” This webinar is an awareness training around drug endangered children and will also address the need for collaboration between TANF professionals and their partners. Resources on drug endangered children and collaboration will be provided.
