As a result of the DHS–IACP Intelligence Summit held in Alexandria, Virginia, in September 2022, the after-action report published in later 2022, and in consultation with Global DFO, GAC and CICC leadership, CICC members voted on and approved the DHS proposal to initiate a project to address the findings and to advance the recommendations as identified during the Summit. Work on the task teams continued during the current reporting period.

States face numerous and pressing criminal justice challenges that directly impact communities and agencies across multiple levels of government. State leaders—governors, legislators, and agency officials—play a critical role in ensuring public safety by setting priorities, identifying policies and programs to achieve them, and allocating finite resources that impact every area of the justice system.

To advance the mission of the Center, the JJSC held several listening sessions to gather input from jail staff and a broad range of stakeholders. These sessions provided insights into their experiences and perspectives on the essential needs and challenges for jails in maintaining a safe and secure corrections environment. The goal of these sessions was to learn about the current needs and challenges that jails face, as well as identify best practices that other jails in the country can utilize

Final bi-monthly virtual meeting held in 2023. The bi-monthly meetings are a new addition are meant to keep members and observers updated on GAC/GESC projects in between regularly scheduled in-person meetings.

Held as one of three annual meetings. The Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council (CICC), a group under the Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative (Global), supports the development and promotion of resources for local, state, tribal, and territorial law enforcement and homeland security agencies in their efforts to gather and share criminal intelligence to better serve and protect communities nationwide.

Premier leaders and practitioners from across the justice landscape met October 8, 2019 Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative (Global) Advisory Committee (GAC, Committee) Meeting at the Office of Justice Programs offices. To maximize resources and provide opportunities for Global engagement by an even greater range of subject-matter experts (SME), the majority of hands-on Committee efforts are conducted virtually. However, once a year, this collaborative Federal Advisory Committee, under the long-standing guidance and support of the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), U.S.
