Register to join the Smart Policing Initiative (SPI) for the webinar “The Benefits of Collaborative Policing” on Wednesday, February 22 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. ET. SPI is a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA); the CNA Corporation, which provides training and technical assistance to SPI grantees; and local law enforcement agencies working to develop evidence-based, data-driven methods to improve policing performance through efficient and cost-effective strategies.

During the webinar, participants will learn effective strategies to build community trust, support, and cooperation through a combination of collaboration and evidence-based policing and problem solving. The agenda will include:

  • A presentation from Hildy Saizow, SPI Senior Subject Matter Expert, on lessons learned and key collaborative policing principles collected during three Police-Community Collaboration workshops held in 2016.
  • A series of success stories from several police managers on their experiences with collaborative policing.
  • A discussion on the role of the community as a partner in creating safer communities from Jason Cooper with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation and BJA’s Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation program.
