The goal of this technical assistance engagement is to provide consulting services to the New Mexico Administrative Office of the District Attorneys to assist them in reporting firearm purchase disqualifying records to the state criminal justice repository. The engagement will also include development of district attorney's case management system functional specifications. Successful completion of this engagement will provide increased number of qualifying records to the state repository and provide initial functional requirements for case management system. JAN-JUNE 2016 PROGRESS UPDATE: SEARCH staff submitted the December 7-8, 2015 site visit summary to the New Mexico Administrative Office of the District Attorneys on 2/4/16 and followed up with emails and phone calls to determine their interest and capability of providing case status information for firearm purchase decisions. To date, New Mexico AODA staff has not indicated their intent whether or not to pursue this opportunity.

JULY-DECEMBER 2015 PROGRESS UPDATE: During this reporting period, SEARCH staff began a technical assistance engagement with the New Mexico Administrative Office of the District Attorney's (AODA) to enhance the reporting of firearm purchase disqualifying records. In December, SEARCH staff conducted a site visit with the AODA staff and reviewed and evaluated current business operations and supporting technology capabilities to increase the number of active cases reported to the state criminal history repository, and subsequent federal systems available for firearm purchase background checks. SEARCH staff also reviewed the AODA prosecution case management system to determine their system's functional requirements.
