IIR continued to provide technical assistance support to the PM-ISE’s Event Deconfliction Project regarding coordinating and documenting the interconnectivity among the existing event deconfliction systems, as well as efforts to promote use of event deconfliction. Event deconfliction will increase officer safety by supporting the identification of nationwide deconfliction standards and identifying, enhancing, and interconnecting existing deconfliction systems. The RISS Technology Support Center (RTSC) staff was instrumental in developing the Project Deconfliction Interface (PDI) which connects the three event deconfliction systems. The RTSC staff, in consultation with the partners, drafted numerous technical and architecture documents regarding the PDI. As of May 2015, the three nationally recognized systems (Case Explorer, SAFETNet, and RISSafe) are connected. This is a significant milestone in further strengthening officer safety across the nation. Also, the Event Deconfliction Policy Group agreed to leverage the existing deconfliction site on the National Criminal Intelligence Resource Center website (www.ncirc.gov/Deconfliction). During this reporting period, the site was updated and the resources and outreach materials developed were posted to the site. Updates to partner contact information were also completed.
