The Exploring School Safety Strategies Course is a three-day course designed for those who work in the law enforcement and school administration arena. It provides a comprehensive approach to enhancing school safety and security. Participants will learn how to improve transportation, signage, and reduce fear for school safety. They will learn how to conduct a security safety survey and rely on all participants’ expertise to make recommendations to enhance school safety and comfort of students and staff. The course will also explore the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles and how they can be used to improve the safety and security of a school.
This course will feature guest presenters and programs from the Arizona region as well as the latest in school safety strategies on a national level. This course will be conducted through PowerPoint presentations, lecture, group exercises, and interactive conversation.

NCPC was able to gather several subject matter experts for this training including the following:
