Questions?

Submitted by Mrs. Edie M Crum on

The following activities occurred during this reporting period:

· Newly released resources were added to the COSSUP Resource Center website, as well as new announcements, funding opportunities, and learning opportunities.

· The IIR team continued to maintain and update the OFR Peer Mentor Site Opportunities section of the COSSUP Resource Center website, which offers users the opportunity to request a virtual site visit; review OFR peer mentor/mentee information; and learn about the OFR peer mentor sites, which serve as models for individuals and teams interested in starting a program or for more established programs interested in learning innovative practices.

· The IIR team continued to support the COSSUP Jail-based Medication-assisted Treatment Mentor Site Initiative (formerly known as the COSSUP Evidence-based Treatment in Custody, Jail-based Mentor Site Initiative) process via the corresponding section of the COSSUP Resource Center website and continued to maintain the online mentee application form and details of the mentor sites, in support of first AHP and now Rulo Strategies, fellow TTA providers.

· The IIR team continued to maintain and support the First Responder Deflection Mentoring Initiative (formerly known as the Law Enforcement/First Responder Diversion and Referral Mentoring Initiative), which is housed in a dedicated section of the COSSUP Resource Center website. An online mentoring initiative site visit application form is offered to support fellow TTA provider CHJ in receiving and adjudicating applications. Information about the mentor sites is provided for those in the field.

· IIR team members continued to maintain the COSSUP Message Exchange—a discussion platform—to provide for the informal sharing of ideas, opinions, and interests; the building of community; and the facilitation of peer-to-peer engagement.

· The IIR team continued to maintain the COSSUP Data Visualization Tool, which is a feature of the COSSUP Resource Center website that identifies the communities, states, territories, and regions that are included in the COSSUP initiative’s site-based program and gives an overview of the activities undertaken by the grant recipients. The tool’s components provide overall views of the data while also allowing users to drill down to see more granular information about a specific site. The data visualization tool enables interested persons to see the types of agencies that received funds, where those agencies are located, the projects and activities that are being done at each site, and site profiles. The goal of the COSSUP Data Visualization Tool is to promote and increase transparency, collaboration, and data sharing among COSSUP sites, partner agencies, and officials. Planning is underway to enhance the tool to make it more intuitive and user-friendly.

· The COSSUP TTA and Deliverables Database—a secure administrative feature of the COSSUP Resource Center website that allows TTA providers to report details about TTA, change the status of TTA information, and search the TTA database—continued to be maintained during this reporting period. The COSSUP TTA and Deliverables Database expands the former TTA Tracker to be a central repository for not only TTA information but also deliverables in a format required for BJA NTTAC reporting twice a year. The data will be exportable from the dashboard by the TTA providers at NTTAC reporting time and can then be imported into the NTTAC reporting portal. These changes will result in TTA providers only needing to enter information in one location (the COSSUP TTA and Deliverables Database), thereby eliminating duplicative efforts. The IIR IT team is building an import tool so that TTA providers do not have to perform a one-by-one entry of each lower-level TTA request or full TTA request received via a method other than the requestor submitting the online TTA request form, which will streamline COSSUP TTA data entry.

· Success stories continued to be solicited from COSSUP grantees to be featured in the COSSUP Digest and added to the Success Stories section within the About COSSUP section of the COSSUP Resource Center website. The success stories are from the field to highlight the valuable work of the COSSUP grantees and their programs, initiatives, and/or campaigns. The hope is that these featured stories will not only showcase the exemplary work that the COSSUP grantees are doing in their communities but also serve in an educational capacity for other communities that want to start or expand similar programs, initiatives, or campaigns. Discussions are underway for revising and revitalizing the success stories of COSSUP grantees.

· The IIR team continued to maintain The Deflection Conversation Framework: A Community Engagement Tool for First Responders training on the COSSUP Resource Center website. The training was developed by CHJ, a COSSUP TTA provider.

· The IIR team continued to maintain the Reaching Rural microsite. It will be updated as new resources become available.

· Planning is underway for a new subpage on coroners, medical examiners, and forensics.

· During this reporting period, IIR continued to maintain and enhance the Withdrawal Management (formerly known as Jail Resources) section of the COSSUP Resource Center website.
o Enhancements during this reporting period included:
 Adding navigation boxes for Screening & Assessment, Withdrawal Management, Medication-assisted Treatment, and Continuity of Care & Recovery Support on the Corrections-based Treatment & Community Reentry webpage.
 Revising Screening & Assessment webpage.
 Building the Corrections Medication-assisted Treatment webpage.
 Building the Continuity of Care & Recovery Support webpage.
 Updating the Implementation Tools webpage.
 Adding sub-headings and introductory language to the Training webpage.
 Adding videos to the Training webpage.
 Adding resources to the Self-paced Courses webpage.
 Placing the updated “Guidelines for Managing Substance Withdrawal in Jails Frequently Asked Questions and Answers” document in place of the version that was initially posted.

· On August 8, the enhanced Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) webpage was published to the COSSUP Resource Center. It streamlines the information provided, includes two new graphics—one interactive, the other static—and emphasizes the fact that COSSUP TTA is offered free of charge to all, not just to COSSUP grantees.

· On August 23, the new Community Corrections/Supervision page was published to the COSSUP Resource Center.

· A special National Recovery Month section of the COSSAP Resource Center was developed and launched on September 3 in alignment with Recovery Month, to highlight new recovery-related products that COSSAP TTA providers produced for publication during the month-long observance. Over the course of Recovery Month in September, COSSAP posted 51 original pieces of content—blogs, videos, podcasts, articles, and toolkits—to a dedicated Web page on the COSSAP Resource Center website, all in the service of the Recovery Month goals: to promote evidence-based practices, the emergence of a strong recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members who have made recovery from substance misuse successful for tens of thousands of individuals across the country. Among the new features created for the 2024 observance of Recovery Month were emphases on COSSUP’s overdose fatality review program; Champions of Deflection promoting law enforcement and first responder deflection programs across the country; and young Champions of Recovery recommended by the Opioid Affected Youth Initiative supported by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

· On September 4, the new Stigma page was published to the COSSUP Resource Center.

· On October 30, the revised Naloxone Toolkit was published to the COSSUP Resource Center, at the request of BJA, to allow BJA NTTAC to relinquish the URLs on the website that has hosted the toolkit since it was initially published. The new version was developed to broaden the audience from just law enforcement officers to law enforcement officers plus additional professionals and teams in the field who might come into contact with naloxone during their normal work activities.

· From July 1 through December 31, 2024, the COSSUP Resource Center website had:
o 17,271 active users.
o 28,924 user sessions.
o 75,330 page views.
