CSG Justice Center staff emailed the Missouri DOC on 11/12/24 for updates on Reentry 2030 goals. The updates included:
- Allocated resources to increase access to birth certificates before release: $300,000
- Adopted a process to obtain written driver’s license examination before release. These services expanded to 6/19 correctional centers with, DOC will need to find the total number.
- Developed the Missouri Second Chance Hiring Portal. DOC has not fully launched the board to the formerly incarcerated, as they are waiting for State Departments to identify positions. All of the framework is in place and are ready.
- Expanded state partnerships to increase pre- and post-release employment services. State Departments we have 2/17 with identified positions and approximately 5 Departments close to having positions identified. DOC has close to 2000 identified second chance employers in the state.
- Hosted a Second Chance Employer Summit
- Established a State Advisory Team
- Developed six Regional Reentry teams.
CSG Justice Center staff continued to work with the research and data team. CSG Justice Center staff worked with Missouri team to prepare for SCA conference and prepare for EM presentation 2025.
