During the reporting period, PSP received approval from DOJ to proceed with hosting the
10th Anniversary PSP Summit: Building Safer Communities Together that was held on December 9–11, 2024. Hosted by the city of Minneapolis, the summit offered alumni and active sites, invited guests, and criminal justice association representatives, as well as a variety of speakers, the opportunity to learn about successful violent crime strategies, network with other sites, and share successes from the last decade. The event, held at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, drew more than 500 attendees from across the country, including representatives from:
• 300 different agencies (including federal agencies and their field offices)
• 57 of the 67 PSP sites
• 38 attendees from U.S. Attorneys’ Offices
• 26 police chiefs and one sheriff
• 92 federal site attendees (ATF, DEA, USMS, FBI) and 28 federal headquarters attendees
IIR’s support of the summit included planning and supporting all logistical preparatory and on-site activities related to this high-profile event, including but not limited to:
• Meeting and hotel space coordination and setup
• Invitee registration and attendee tracking
• Communications, including social media promotion, coordination of a PSP video contest, and development of a new PSP Impact Video to kick off the event
• Agenda development and coordination for delivery of plenary sessions, panel rotations, recognition ceremonies, and customized site breakout sessions
• Material and website development
• Mobile app development and live updates
• Livestreaming of the opening ceremony
• Support for press event
• Event security in conjunction with hotel security staff, the Minneapolis Police Department, and federal agencies
• Technical support
• Photography
• Event staffing
• Speaker outreach, preparation, and reimbursement
• Cost oversight and management
