In October, TDCJ reported they successfully filled the vacant Community Corrections Officer (CCO) position. The selected applicant began on October 1, 2024, and is currently shadowing the CCO facilitating cohorts five and 6 of the Anger Management on Parole program. . The new applicant will receive their caseload during the next cycle of programming offered.
CSG Justice Center staff continued the discussion surrounding the purchasing of the GoTo Webinar software. The GoTo Webinar software was installed, and TDCJ is currently testing the software before rolling it out for groups.
TDCJ reports they will continue utilizing Microsoft Teams for the current 56 engaged participants in cohorts five and six in Anger Management on Parole groups scheduled to conclude at the end of October. There are currently 155 individuals on the waiting list for the next rounds of cohorts being offered.
As TDCJ has not expended the majority of the awarded grant, they requested guidance on how to obtain a no-cost extension to the grant's completion data of 9/30/2025. CSG Justice Center staff will work with BJA and provide guidance by outlining the process for the grantees to follow.
