Objective 3: Promote Justice Counts with the goal of increasing participation and support.? (Developing Promotional Materials and Conference Appearances)?
In New Mexico, CSG Justice Center staff completed a Justice Counts tool for the New Mexico Association of Counties for an upcoming presentation to New Mexico County Commissioners.
This month, participating Justice Counts agencies used resources created by CSG Justice Center staff in the following ways:
In Howard County, Indiana Community Supervision CSG Justice Center staff developed an analysis that agency leaders are using to advise the Howard County Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council (JRAC) of the increased success rate of a work release program and to advocate to county commissioners for an increased budget for this recidivism-reducing approach to supervision that focuses on sustainable employment.
In New Mexico CSG Justice Center staff created for the Association of Counties received a second analysis of data shared with Justice Counts for all 29 adult detention centers in the state that New Mexico AOC agency leaders used to present at a meeting on December 11, 2024 of all county commissioners in New Mexico.
In Iowa, CSG Justice Center staff developed for the Ames, Iowa Police Department an analysis of data shared with Justice Counts to use at community meetings to increase public transparency around police actions in the city.
