Objective 7: Facilitate the adoption and implementation of Justice Counts in additional states. (Light Touch States)?
In?Indiana?CSG Justice Center staff were on site to meet with the Madison County JRAC, the Indiana State Police Department, Concerned Clergy, the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, the Indiana Prosecuting Attorney's Council and the Indiana Public Defense Council, and to present to the Jennings and Harrison County JRACs. The Jennings County Probation Department opted in during the trip. CSG Justice Center staff met off site with Warrick County Public Defender and the Cass County JRAC to collaborate on potential data products. CSG Justice Center staff also introduced the project to the Davies County Community Corrections, who opted in, and conducted onboarding sessions with the Decatur County Court Services, Floyd County Probation, Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council members from Owen County Court Services, Shelby County Community Supervision, Marion County Community Corrections, and Tipton County Probation Department.?
In?Iowa?CSG Justice Center staff discussed potential data products with the Ames Police Department and conducted an onboarding session with the Des Moines Police Department and the Winterset Police Department.??
In Michigan, CSG Justice Center staff met with Washtenaw County Community Corrections to recruit them as a new Justice Counts agency. CSG Justice Center staff also met with the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission to reengage them in the program.
In Missouri, CSG Justice Center staff were on site to recruit new agencies for the program. CSG Justice Center staff met with the North County Police Cooperative, University City Police Department, Creve Coeur Police Department (opt-in), and Hazelwood Police Department to introduce Justice Counts. CSG Justice Center staff also met with Missouri DOC to coordinate technical assistance on Publisher and resume data sharing.
In Pennsylvania, CSG Justice Center staff met with Dauphin County District Attorney's Office to provide technical assistance.
In Utah, CSG Justice Center staff were on site to recruit new agencies for the program. CSG Justice Center Staff met with the Utah Commission for Criminal and Juvenile Justice and with the Utah Department of Corrections Research and Planning Division to introduce Justice Counts.
In Washington, CSG Justice Center staff were on site to meet with various agencies and stakeholders to expand work in the state. Staff met with the state's Misdemeanant Probation Association, Snohomish County District Court, Marysville Municipal Court, Marysville Court, Washington State Association of Counties, Washington Department of Corrections, and Washington State Office of Public Defense to provide an overview of Justice Counts and Publisher demo. CSG Justice Center Staff also met with the Seattle Police Department and the Seattle's Mayor's Office to discuss being a Justice Counts champion. Off-site, staff met with the Governor's Office previous Governor's staff to discuss goals, and the possible piloting of Justice Counts in a few counties.
