Objective 3: Promote Justice Counts with the goal of increasing participation and support.?(Developing Promotional Materials and Conference Appearances)?

CSG Justice Center staff completed an initial website audit for updates to the Justice Counts website. These updates included the addition of some newly opted in agencies and an update to calendars for states.?

CSG Justice Center staff completed the first Justice Counts data-use agency resource document for the New Mexico Association of Counties. The agency resource document focused on New Mexico's adult detention challenge in balancing the care and custody of people charged with county, state, and federal offenses while securing enough funding from all levels to get the job done. The Justice Counts team demonstrated the challenge through the use of the data in the New Mexico's Publisher account.?

CSG Justice Center staff compiled talking points about Justice Counts and how Justice Counts can support the work of public defense agencies to be used at a BJA presentation to seven agencies in CA.?

CSG Justice Center staff developed a process with the Justice Center website, editorial, and public affairs teams to update the Justice Counts website on a monthly basis and will continue to maintain the site this way going forward. October updates included critical email and calendar link updates as well as navigational upgrades for users.

In response to participating agency leader requests, the Justice Counts Impact team created and delivered three custom ad hoc resources for agencies in October:

Arkansas - statewide resolution in support of using Justice Counts provided to a state senator

Michigan - statewide resolution in support of using Justice Counts provided to a state Representative

New Mexico - New Mexico Association of Counties data analysis of funding, expenses, and trends for 29 county detention centers.

The Justice Counts Impact Team received seven additional requests for ad hoc agency resources through engagement with participating agency leaders in five different states, all currently in development and scoping with those agencies and internal teams.

CSG Justice Center staff attended the National Association for Justice Information Systems Annual Conference to promote Justice Counts to over 30 agencies from across the country.

In October, the Justice Counts Impact Team conducted email outreach to the leaders of all 218 agencies participating in Justice Counts. Agency leaders received personalized data-sharing updates for their agencies and invitations to meet with the Impact Team and discuss their needs to use their data. The Impact Team staff set an objective of 15 calls with leaders following this outreach, and 24 calls were scheduled and held in October.
