Met and corresponded with grantee 4 times between October and December of 2024 on 10/11, 11/12, 12/5, and 12/9
Summary of Successes
They have begun to receive referrals from the office of children services (OCS)
Held their strategic planning meeting in November with stakeholders
They had their 5th annual Shop with a Hero event in which any first responder signed up to take a child to Walmart, who funded the event, to shop for gifts for the holidays. 14 children from their DEC program participated.
National DEC came to Palmer to conduct a train the trainer child awareness training. They then conducted trainings for their local rotary club and office of child services.
The Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships is coming to Palmer to collaborate on a domestic violence training and to provide resources for the multidisciplinary taskforce
Ohio University submitted a program evaluation proposal and work plan which has officially been approved by the city. The grantee has begun to share data with the evaluators and will work with them through the rest of the project period to evaluate all 3 years of the program.
Their area has received an OFR grant with National DEC. They plan to begin case reviews in February 2025. They attended our quarterly cohort meeting on December 5th to learn about OFRs from IIR.
