FY25Q1 Engagement Activities
Met and corresponded with grantee 2 times between October and December of 2024 on 11/1 and 11/21
Summary of Successes
They submitted a GAM to expand the scope of their grant's law enforcement CIT training program to be able to offer it to additional agencies in their area
Began referring women with SUD and their children from Serenity Place and the Phoenix Center to their 6 month Bridge Program. They are seeing women continue to engage in services even after completing the program.
Having success with their drug prevention education in the schools, they have reached over 3,000 students
Summary of Challenges
They initiated a self referral model at their police department that was not as successful as they anticipated. The community was not utilizing it so they pivoted to instead offer the above mentioned program for Serenity Place. This has been very successful and they plan to restart the community self referral in the future.
Summary of Resources Provided
We discussed strategies to better engage the community and raise awareness of their self referral program (barbecues, open door nights, community organization partnerships)
Summary of Suggestions for further TA/next steps
Continue regularly scheduled TA engagement and coaching
