Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees In July, CSG Justice Center Staff continued to meet with WADOC staff to discuss the status of the legislation proposal needed to implement the Superior Court Domestic Violence Program funded by SMART Supervision funding. WADOC held a meeting with the YWCA of Greater Portland in Spokane regarding the legislative proposal they are in the process of drafting and meeting with those who are backing the legislation. YWCA dissolved their initial contract with the Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Center (SRDVC) and received federal funding to successfully implement a DV Court in District Courts due to its inability to implement the program WADOC expressed interest in partnering with YWCA for the legislation proposal and implementation of the DV Court in the Superior Court through the state’s Smart Supervision grant. They aim to complete the legislation proposal by January of 2025. WADOC met with domestic violence services provider, Relationship Advantage, due to a backlog of program participants that do not have completed assessments or enrollment into programming. Relationship Advantage reported seeking evaluations of program participants within the next two months. Upon completion of the evaluation, the participants’ referral into the courses will take approximately three weeks. Further, WADOC reports that a Community Corrections Officer 3 transitioned to a new position and is no longer part of the program. WADOC currently has 32 participants enrolled in the program. Of the 32 participants enrolled in the program, 6 have failed to report, 1 was detained for new charges, 2 were picked up on warrants from other counties, 1 was released from incarceration, 21 are engaged in the program.
